HELP! PREPPING YOUR HOME FOR A LIFESTYLE FAMILY PHOTOSHOOT…
Setting the scene for a home session doesn’t need to feel daunting, I will help you the whole way - so please don’t worry about making your house into a show home, it’s meant to be real and lived in! Life at home with kids I know it very well hehe!!
My style is very light and soft, so most things fade away into the background making you the focus…
At home sessions are perfect for intimate and relaxing sessions, sharing your personal taste and space into the photographs. Ideal for newborns and babies as home is where they tend to feel most comfortable, giving us the best chance of getting those gorgeous cosy sleepy shots, or cheeky giggles.
I usually gravitate towards the natural light and space, big beds are always a favourite spot allowing families to snuggle, with plenty of space for little ones to play and bounce, and if we are lucky we can lay babies down for some tummy time or even a little snooze to catch those lovely dreamy expressions.
MY TOP TIPS…
• Open all blinds and curtains to the maximum, we will hang out alot by the windows for lots of natural light
• Choose a white/plain toned bedsheet
• If you have a porcelain sink in the kitchen, give it a scrub as we can get a great shot of older babies in there
• Gather any special details, scans, or children’s books that you’d like to feature
• Pull together any light toned knitted blankets, muslin swaddles and nappy covers for the babies
• Bare feet look best for home sessions.
